1. Permitted Academic Use
The Coastal Communities Cultural Heritage Platform offers open-access archives strictly for educational, research, and non-commercial local cultural promotion purposes. Users are allowed to download slides, read folktales, and use translation databases provided they reference the Technical University of Mombasa and the National Museums of Kenya appropriately in citations.
2. Contributor Responsibilities
When uploading oral history recordings or photographs, contributors must guarantee that the records are authentic, respect community sensitivities, do not plagiarize, and have been obtained with explicit consensus from community elders. TUM reserves the right to reject, modify, or delete any record that violates ethical standards.
3. Disclaimer of Liability
While our editorial committee checks all uploaded vocabulary translations and historical metadata descriptions, materials are presented "as is." We are not liable for regional dialect differences, pronunciation deviations, or localized folktale variations which remain part of dynamic living cultural traditions.
